Castle Grounds Improvements
A whole range of improvements have taken place in the Lews Castle Grounds in association with the landowner, the Stornoway Trust - the largest democratically elected community landowner in Scotland. These include the construction of a new roadway - which used largely reycyled materials - across the lower part of the Castle Green and improvements in the drainage and re-seeding of the green. Railings and gates have been restored or replaced at Creed Lodge, Marybank Lodge and at Christie's Pier.
