Herring Girls
Herring Girls commemorated: The work of women in the heyday of the Herring fishery has been marked by the Amenity Trust with the commissioning and installation of two statues, one on North Beach Quay and the other on South Beach Quay. Each has been landscaped as a feature with associated herring barrels and stone paving. Associated with this was the production of a series of four postcards and of a booklet on The Herring Girls. Both these are available from local shops.
